Patricia Paquin

Patricia Paquin grew up a stone’s throw away from Lake Ontario in Burlington and resided for more than 30 years in picturesque Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. She now makes Fonthill, Ontario her home.

She spent many years in British Columbia, at times, living on a boat, working in the Mericulture industry and managing a Seafood processing plant in Lund, British Columbia. She is an active member of the Niagara Arts Community and former owner of her own Gallery, “THE ARTISTS’ LOFT” which featured her artwork, as well as many other local and Canadian Artisan creations. Although she regularly nurtures her childhood love of Art with books and workshops she considers her present level of Artistic skills to be largely self-taught. Her continuing series of one-of-a-kind faces, florals and maple leaves on functional pottery, has found a true following among both casual and dedicated collectors alike.

Whether in the form of paintings or ceramic sculpture, the style and flair of her colourful images, are a joy to behold. She also collects and uses pieces of vintage jewelry to adorn many of her Acrylic Paintings, giving the unique jewelry pieces a new life and adding additional sparkle to her face paintings.

Patricia’s ceramic artworks begin as either slip cast, pressed clay or hand cut from rolled slabs of clay. Her designs are hand drawn and hand painted onto functional pottery vases, planters, teapots, mugs, and platters. The designs are fired into the clay then clear glazed and fired again to make the item FUNCTIONAL ARTWORK!

The main theme of many of my paintings is the use of flowers to replace the hair surrounding my subject's face. This adds a variety of bold colours and interest to my paintings. I also add vintage jewelry to many of these works of Art which showcases the beauty and sparkle of adornments from years gone by.

Patricia’s bold and whimsical images have charmed and delighted an avid clientele across much of North America and Overseas.
