Julia Kane

I am currently working full-time as an artist, located in St. Davids, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario; it is my joy.

Originally identified as a gifted artist in school, I continue to enjoy inspiring workshops and open studios given by many leading artists. I embrace the different styles of watercolour, vibrancy of acrylics, mixed media and contemporary poured resins.

I am sharing my love and experience with fused glass, currently instructing workshops at the Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre. Fused glass sculptures can be displayed in iron stands, LED-lit wooden stands, acrylic bases, garden stakes or hung on walls or in windows.

As an award-winning artist, my paintings and sculptures are in many corporate and personal collections. I am an active member of The Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre, The NOTL Arts Collective, and NOTL Studio Tour 2024, and continue on several Art Committee Executives.

Included in my work is garden art, fused glass in tall garden stakes and fine art prints on aluminum that can be displayed outdoors. I hope my audience is enthusiastic about my work and finds it fresh, colourful and elicits joy. There is much JOY to be found in my work.

I am inspired by the lush agriculture of the Niagara area and love to paint vineyards, orchards, nature and flowers from my garden. I work in my home studio which includes a kiln for fused glass and often paint from photographs that I take or am given for commissions.”
