Rosie Sherman

Rosie Sherman is a seasoned artist with over 35 years of experience working in acrylics. She paints a diverse range of subjects.

Whether it is captivating florals or the beauty of nature in her landscapes, they are all marked by a passion for bold and bright colours. Her artistic journey has resulted in a body of work that connects deeply with her viewers on multiple levels. Each piece tells a story, inviting her audience into a world of vibrant emotion.

Her work has been showcased in various exhibitions, in Toronto, Richmond Hill, Niagara-on-the-Lake and Florida where she spends the winter. For the last 10 years, she has been teaching and hopes to inspire and engage her students, by sharing her passion and the joy of painting.

“My artistic process is deeply intuitive, often starting with an emotional or visual idea.

Acrylics have become my preferred medium because of their forgiving nature, and allowing me the ability to layer and build texture, with brush and palette knives.

I approach each canvas with an open mind, starting with loose fluid strokes to establish the composition and then refining the details.

My paintings become a conversation between my own vision and trying to push the boundaries of my creativity. Through this ongoing exploration, I continue to discover new ways to express the beauty and complexity of the world and the people in it.”
