Lynn Saint-Onge Weiner

I am originally from Granby, in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. I’m mostly self-taught, though I have attended workshops and taken many art classes at different ateliers through the years.

I found these lessons to be extremely valuable, yet most of my training has been comprised of many hours behind the easel. I began doing pen-and-pencil commissioned portraits of people and pets in 1990 while living in California. The years I’ve spent honing my drawing skills have served me well as a painter.

In 2014, I moved to Niagara-on-the-Lake with my husband, Terry. Here I discovered a vibrant community of artists and, inspired by the beauty and scenery of Niagara, I started painting full-time.

In 2021, I joined the Niagara-on-the-Lake Arts Collective, a group of professional artists and fine art galleries working to establish Niagara-on-the-Lake as a premier art destination.

“Working with acrylic paints, as well as pen and pencil, my aim is to produce highly detailed and realistic works.

When painting with acrylics, I layer many thin washes of colours to slowly build shapes and enhance the perception of three-dimensionality.”
