#11 Fibreful Studio
Home Studio of Fibre Artist Carolyn Mackenzie
My studio is a single-purpose (creating felt) large room above the garage. It is full of all the equipment and materials needed for felting. There is a dye area, a sewing table, two felting/dye tables, and lots of shelving full of colourful felting materials. Only those able to climb stairs will be able to visit the studio.
Depending on the weather, I will have a setup either in the driveway or in my husband's workshop underneath my studio for those who can't do stairs. The studio room was originally my husband's painting studio. When I outgrew a smaller downstairs studio, I moved up to the larger studio where there are north and south windows and a skylight. It is a beautiful and well-lit room to create in.
For those able to climb the stairs there will be works in progress to view and the opportunity to pull some fibre and try their hand at creating a piece of felt. For those who can't do the stairs, there will be a simple demonstration available. The opportunity to purchase items will be downstairs.
