“After introducing mixed media and collage into my painting many years ago, I have found that I have been able to loosen up and relax and really enjoy the creative process.

I enjoy the freedom of experimenting with mixed media and various techniques including incorporating collage as a base and then with almost reckless abandon tempered with good design aesthetics, drip, blend, spray, splash, scrape, roll and brush on acrylic paints and inks, watercolour, pencil crayon and oil sticks.

I try to combine these materials to develop exciting textures, colours and light into my original abstract images and semi-abstract images of landscape and figurative compositions. Various influences including nature, current events, weather, books, homes and music affect the piece. Taking advantage of those happy accidents that occur during the seemingly ad-hoc process, the paintings develop their own personality, layer by layer everything falls into place without becoming overly representational.
